His hobbies included watching sports on TV, golfing, listening to country music, reading, working out at the YMCA and fixing anything and everything. His biggest loves were God, his family, his church, beach vacations, Indianapolis Colts, and Alabama Crimson Tide football. Pat was a humble man of faith who loved to spend time with his family. Pat’s hard work, attention to detail, dedication and servant leadership were influential and highly regarded in each position. His engineering and construction expertise aided in the success of major programs such as Iraq reconstruction, Puerto Rico power restoration after Hurricane Maria, Hurricane Andrew restoration, Ballistic Missile Defense, military medical construction, chemical destruction, facility repair and renewal for Installation Support Programs directly supporting the war-fighter. He worked in several leadership positions including Louisville District Area Engineer, Chief Project Engineer Columbus Ohio, Resident Engineer at Scott Air Force Base, Construction Division Chief of the South District in Iraq, Resident Engineer of the Chemical Weapons Destruction Facility in Newport Indiana, Director of Chemical Demilitarization, and Systems Engineering Division Chief of Huntsville Center. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Patrick Michael Haas, age 60, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on February 9, 2019, at home with his family by his side.
